Four Bills To Fight Homelessness

Here are four bills in the Washington State legislature that will help fight homelessness

I travelled to Olympia with Faith Action Network to tell my legislators to tax the rich to house the homeless.

There are lots of really important bills this year and our legislature has a tons of work to do.

Here are four bills to fight homelessness here in Washington State.

The Millionaires Tax (SB6346) would raise taxes on people earning over $1 million a year to help fix Washington’s regressive tax code.

The Well Washington Fund (HB2100) would raise taxes on big corporations to fund housing and other services.

The Shelters, Not Penalties Act (HB 2489) prohibits cities from criminalizing homelessness without providing shelter.

And The Housing Everywhere (HB 2266) bill prevents cities from blocking housing and shelters using restrictive zoning rules.

It’s not complicated. Tax the rich, house the homeless!
