I have read so many studies concerning traffic cameras and impact on safety and the truth is no correlation can be found. While it reduces speeding it has the tendency to cause other unintended consequences such as accidents due to sudden breaking.
You're conflating speed cameras with red light cameras. Shoreline is not considering red light cameras.
